Weaving Workshops with Sally Hampson in her London studio N5 2RD
For beginners and those with some experience, 6 places. 

4-day workshop: April 23rd–26th £240

2-day workshop: April 25th–26th £120

10am–4pm (with some flexibility if needed)

Come and explore colour and texture on the loom. 

You’ll learn traditional weaving techniques, from hopsack and twill to herringbone, while exploring your own weaving creativity 

4-Day Workshop April 23rd–26th Days 1-2 Design your own warp, learn how to wind it, and thread the loom. 

Days 3-4 Begin weaving, exploring colour, texture, and different weave structures.

2-Day Workshop April 25th- 26th. Perfect if you’d like to focus on weaving with out setting the loom, it will be prepared for you in advance. After a short introduction on how the loom works, you’ll begin weaving straight away. Experimenting with your own colours and textures.

After both workshops you will leave with a collection of sample or a scarf and the skill and understanding of weaving.

Sally graduated with a Masters in weaving from the RCA, and has continued her creative life in textiles. Has been a visiting lecturer at Goldsmith College, Central St Martins and the RCA. Has worked on projects in Egypt, Ethiopia and Kenya, with artisan weavers, potters and basket makers, worked on sets and costumes for the theatre and has shown her work, in galleries and museum here and internationally, at present creates limited editions of woven blankets, shawls and scarves.
